You may have seen one of our vans around town, and may even recognize one or two of DELIA'S Cleaners drivers. But did you know they have one of the most important jobs in our company? Every day they pick up and deliver clothing from our 19 stores to the plant and back again. And, they do it with unbeatable accuracy, ensuring the right order is at the right store when promised.

A Driver's Day At DELIA'S Cleaners

After arriving at DELIA'S Cleaners' production facility, the drivers move the delivery vans from overnight parking to the loading/staging area where they load their first deliveries for the stores. The drivers head out around 8:00 a.m. most days, and stop to put gas in the vans for the day. They  arrive at their first store by 9:00 a.m.

The transportation manager assigns each driver specific routes and stores every day. These may change from day to day because the volume of cleaning orders varies daily for each store. Some drivers may pick up and deliver to a single, high volume store, while others may go to five stores on a single run. Once assigned a route, the drivers are responsible for all pickups and deliveries. This requires a minimum of four round trips.

Each van holds between 750 to 900 pieces to ensure the garments are not wrinkled during transit. In winter months, garments are bulkier, so the average load is closer to 750 pieces. Every order is scanned before it's loaded onto the van. This allows each driver to track and deliver the orders to the right location automatically.

At the end of the day, each driver cleans and checks their vehicle before leaving it in the overnight parking area and heading home.

Every member of the DELIA'S Cleaners family is dedicated to meeting and exceeding your expectations. Our drivers are an integral part of the entire process -" they ensure your cleaning moves efficiently and quickly from store to the plants and back to the stores.

So, the next time you see one of our vans, give the driver a friendly wave hello. He might just have your order on board!
